The Evolution of the Universe

In the beginning, the Universe was covered with darkness, the universe was filled with darkness, the universe was only darkness. There were no sun,no moon ,no stars nor anything at that time. No little patch of fire, air, water, ether existed at that time. There was only emptiness. Emptiness everywhere. At that time 'sath' existed. Sath had no shape, no color, no personality. It was neither big nor small. Briefly, Sath is Satyam(the truth). It is the knowledge, happiness and other emotions.

The shapeless Brahma evolved according to the wishes. It turned into a Jyothirlingam. This Lingam was kn
own as the Brahmandam(the Universe). This andam split and then began the inception of the nondestructive 'Virat Pursh'. He/she was the only thing existed at that time. He/she existed everywhere. He/she had many faces and eyes in every direction. He/she could see without eyes and hear without ears. It was impossible to see him/her in full form.

This NirakaraRupa(formless) ParaBrahma, after many yugas, wished for something else. He/she wished for the evolution of millions from one. At that moment, he/she decided to be in a form by usi
ng his/her own powers. That idol was with all greatness, all knowledge and was a Godfigure for everyone. Parabrahma without a body-and that idol is Lord 'SadaSiva'.
At one time, Siva and ParaSakti became close as husband and wife. Being happy, they wished for something. To create someone to do the job of 'Creation'. With these thoughts Siva with Sakti applied Amritam on the ten organs of the left side of his own body. After sometime, from that part, born a person who is handsome of all three worlds and with the goodness of million suns.

That great man worn a crown of gold. The beauty of his body was challenging to all
ruby and emeralds. Covered with jewelery and ornaments,he worn a robe made up of gold. He has strong hands and eyes resembling to lotus. He existed everywhere, therefore he came to be known as Vishnu.

At the time of creation, nature entered Vishnu. Greatness was made and pride evolved from it. Pride split into Emotions, Brilliance and Anger. From the anger, sky was evolved, from the sky air was evolved, from the air fire was evolved and from the fire water was evolved. Vishnu brought consciousness to the five elements. Vishnu's vigor was thrown out in water. This vigor is known to be the 'Life'.

From the pride brilliance evolved all senses and from pride emotions evolved ten emotional Devas and the eleventh sense the mind.

The Vigor which was thrown out by Vishnu evolved and became an andam. That andam gave the birth of BrahmaDev. Vishnu broke that andam into two. He made one part as Heaven and the other as Earth.

After that, Lord Vishnu meditated for a very long time. Because of the impact of the mediation, fountains were started to appear in different parts of his body.

That water filled the empty sky. At that time, being tired, Lord Vishnu fell asleep. He slept there for very long time, satisfied. Because of sleeping in water(Nara), Lord Vishnu got the name 'Narayan'.

At that time, there were no elements in nature except Narayan. While he was sleeping on water, a lotus began to grow from his navel. The lotus was full of beautiful petals and appeared as bright as the sun.

After that, Maheswar created BrahmaDev from the left side of his body. By the wishes of illusion BrahmaDev sat on the lotus which came from the navel of Lord Vishnu. BrahmaDev meditated and earned power. BrahmaDev, with his power continued the creation process and life began on the Universe.

  2. Hi...am an outsider but still, what he has explained above is fully correct.
Wat is been talken above is wat that has happened before the birth of so called
HistorY. Odin, Zeus (Dyaus pita) Our Indra...all are linked. I had a long
Research on them. They r no Gods but Devas...in prevedic times these Devas
Where considered major and then when the senior GODS found that they
Were not good enough in their duties...their status went down. They are not
Immortal like Brahma, Vishnu and Mahadev But they have very long life.

  3. And about Allah...see the sacred symbol. It has a cresent moon and a star. The moon represents Chandra Dev and the star represents his god... His god is Shakthi....that is Goddess Durga or Goddess Adishakthi according to Hindus. Friday is sacred in islam and sacred for Devi poojas in hindism...in the same way all are linked... God is there..its True...take my word.

  5. HI I really like your blog and it is so informative. O have a question : Why god created us in this universe. Everybody used to tell us that aatma has no birth not death. It leaves our body when we die ( i agreed with this). We do hear more from swamiji's or gurus' stating that if we do good things in this world our aatma will reach the god if we do wrong things again we have to take some other form (human or animal) in in this world after our death. One thing i did not understand - if initially in the universe aatma might be in the pure (Shudha) form, then why god sent us (as aatmas) to this world.
Kindly clarify the above issue. It will be so useful for me or suugest me if i need to search some references for clarificaion of this issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Harish

    1. My dear friend, your desire to understand all these questions are generous. To understand this complex nature of creation is very much beyond our reality. We all are living in the ocean of illusion and that is full of ignorence to understand truth. What i have understood with my limit of ignorance and with power of god who gave me very little to realize; i am here try to emphasing in short.

Soul is beyond the comprehension of good, bad, emotions, illusion etc.. etc.. it is nothing but the devine light of god from which every thing originate. Each and every Saul manifested to achieve desire goal. Once that goal is achieved, resulted in return to supreme souce. If Soul does not achieve a desire goal;) it has to destine reincaranation forever until it achieve it destination. For an example; The soul of Ravana has to achieve all evils of Ravana and if he could not achieve this his incaranation during Ramayana then it had to take rebirth to achieve it destination to become Ravana foreever. All good, bad are all senses of emotions related to material word with illusion and ignorance all around does not make any difference for non material senses. It is all control by law of karma. As the karma of wise men are the bad for evil men and visa versa.

  6. This is where the concept of MAYA comes in the Vedic Religion.
All those we see are just illusions. The moment we realize(or achieve a point in life) that this is not the real world,we will be free from this cobweb. This is called 'Samadhi'. Samadhi is not death, its a process in which the soul leaves the body without the body being damaged(just imagine, the doesnt leave unless the body is damaged somehow.like, accident, heart failures etc).
So Maya is a glass between God and Soul. The soul sees God through the glass which has imperfections and refractions...that is what we're going through right now. Thus, its not like 'God sent us to Earth to live a life and we will go back to heaven if we are good'...this is primitive believes of western religions and yea, most in Hinduism as well like as the devotees of ISKCON.

  8. OK, ur theory here is perfect, and what i understand is parabrahma generated vishnu and then from vishnu came brahma and shiva, which implies that vishnu is the creator of brahma and shiva. At the same time, disregarding this fact you stated in your other articles that from the beginning of time there were three supreme figures. So it would be a great help if you can kindly help me understand this. Because you totally disregard the ISKCON concept of Vishnu being the supreme. (Not a follower of ISKCON ideologies, just confused)

    1. What said in this story -
"This NirakaraRupa(formless) ParaBrahma, after many yugas, wished for something else. He/she wished for the evolution of millions from one. At that moment, he/she decided to be in a form by using his/her own powers. That idol was with all greatness, all knowledge and was a Godfigure for everyone. Parabrahma without a body-and that idol is Lord 'SadaSiva'."
So the story above says, Siva was formed first before Vishnu and Brahma.

Vaishnavists believe Vishnu is the Ultimate God and he was the source of creation while Shaivists believe Shiva as the most powerful one. Shaktists believe Shakti created the entire universe and she is the supreme one.

These stories of creations are from Puranas. Puranas are illustrations of the Vedas. There are many stories of creation. Even in One Purana there might contain many. Like in ShivaPurana, there are about 7 different stories of creation.

Actually, the basic idea is BIG BANG. While in other religion says God created the universe with his power using hands, Hinduism teaches God used the materials that already existed to create or 'EVOLVE' the universe. We can see that every creation stories of Hinduism starts from a 'DOT'. In the story above it is 'Sath'. In Vaishnava version it is Vishnu's Navel. Now, study the Big Bang theory. We can find that the stories of Purana are in great match,

So, why one story says Vishnu created the universe and the other Siva or Brahma, you might ask...
I already explained this in another article, but again I'll point out.
      Puranas are ILLUSTRATIONS.
      Consider this simple equation '1+1=2"
Here is an illustration of the equation ' Dev had an apple. Maya gave him another apple and he now has 2 apple'.
The idea of the illustration doesnt change even if Dev was Maya or it was orange instead of apple. '1+1=2' remains the same.

There werent many scientific equations or formulas or elements of periodic table at that time for the sages to describe the story of the universe like Stephen Hawking did. So they drew the Puranas.

ISKCON doesnt consider Vishnu is the supreme God. They consider Krishna as the supreme while Vishnu is just an avatar of Krishna.

  9. Each religion says the same concept of bigbang in different ways.but i'm curious why the supreme one(Shiva or Vishnu )created human.why we have to live to realize the MAYA and then return back.Or these all are the game of energy(which cannot be created nor destroy, only change one from to another). Also God created somany animals apart from us,whether they also has to realize the illusion(maya)to come out from the cobweb.
While thinking about it, i like to believe the biological way of thought..iehuman originated step by stepfrom lower animals.

    1. Let me give you an example what Maya is...
"The existence of rainbow depends on the conical photoreceptors of your eyes. To animals without cones, rainbows doesnt exist."
What you define as a "red book" isnt actually red. Its different in different light, temperature and humidity. So the 'reality' is not 'real'.
The state of the world without this material nature is the place where the pure soul ends up in...known as Nirvana.
Animals and birds, even insects have souls but only human beings have the brains to identify the science.

  12. Yaar we are mammals with animal instincts as well that we cannot deny..Religions are created by saints & holy spirits according to the respective social evils & need of their comminity but the basic ideology behind all books & religion (Bible,Quran,Bhagwatam,Guru-Granth Sahib,Buddhism,Jainism,Mahavira, and all others ) is to behave like HUMAN not like animals or behave inhuman....
Now instead of understanding the theology behind this...people have become eccentric because of misinterpretations done by present-day guru & spiritual leaders of respective religion thus malifying the fragrance of God.
If you really believe in God...Behave normally & according to the nature of god. You know god is already inside you....and You donot have to go anywhere to search him or pray him all the time..!
God wilnt threaten you or want any sacrifice from u.
He will be happy when you will do your prescribed duty honestly & have purity of thought all the time.

    god bless all..

  14. You mentioned these lines above :
"'The shapeless Brahma evolved according to the wishes. It turned into a Jyothirlingam. This Lingam was known as the Brahmandam(the Universe). This andam split and then began the nemesis of the nondestructive 'Virat Pursh'."
"The Vigor which was thrown out by Vishnu evolved and became an andam. That andam gave the birth of BrahmaDev. Vishnu broke that andam into two. He made one part as Heaven and the other as Earth."
"After that, Maheswar created BrahmaDev from the left side of his body. By the wishes of illusion BrahmaDev sat on the lotus which came from the navel of Lord Vishnu.''

I'm confused between who created BrahmaDev...Shiva or Vishnu?..as the last two statements contradict each other. And I would like to know whether the 'Brahmandam' or 'Jyothirlingam' you mentioned is Shiva?

    1. The Evolution(not 'creation') of the Universe explained in the Puranas is very similar to the 'Big Bang' Theory. Instead of seeing the Gods as individual figures, it is better logical to find them representations of divine energies that govern the cosmic phenomenon.
As I mentioned before in my previous articles, various Puranas are written with different perspectives of sects such as Shaiva,Vaishnava or Shakta. Each has their own version of the creator but the soul theme is the same.
Some say Siva created both Vishnu and BrahmaDev, some say Brahma created Vishnu and Siva and others say Brahma created Vishnu and Siva. Im not the type who says one particular sect is right and the purana they wrote is the final authority. Therefore, if you are Vaishnavist you can be happy considering Vishnu being the creator of all according to Vaishnava Purana, if you are a Shaivist you can consider Siva as the creator of all.
Scientists conclude that the Universe was created and destroyed millions of times before and there had been many BigBangs. This is exactly the same thing that is said in the Puranas. While Cosmology consists of terms such as neutrons,protons,electrons,matter,anti-matter etc, the Puranas have Siva, Vishnu, Brahma and others.

Lingam('symbol' in Sanskrit) represents many things. It is the simplest idol of God. Or it might represent nuclear energy http://sivapurana.blogspot.in/2013/05/shiva-linga.html .
Scientists theorize that after the big bang there had been a huge clash between matter and antimatter which resulted in the Universe that exists today. Immense amount of energy was produced after this clash. Maybe the Lingam represents this energy and Brahmandam(Universe) resulted from it.
I translated this version of 'The Evolution of the Universe' from MahaSivaPurana. There are many versions but if studied with a logically and scientifically it all makes sense.
I have no intention to say "Siva is the most Supreme and the creator of All' it depends on the perspective and tolerance. The Supreme is none other than the invisible energy that caused the BigBang(the same thing that created Time and Space{there was no 'time' before BigBang according to Scientists}). And all these Gods are representations of different aspects of this energy.
Advaita explains many other science in its own way. Such as 'Maya' and the String Theory or Parallel Dimensions.
All those 'worship him and secure a place in heaven' is primitive.

  15. Hi Yadu Vijayakrishnan First let me thank you for creating blog to increase spiritual knowledge on lord...
.As per my understanding and my knowledge, you may aware of 18 Purana s in Hindu mythology, bible for Christians and Qur'an for Muslims, if we combine all these, we would get the answers for everything for every one. the important thing is every one is interested in their individualists are creating an issue and due to lack of awareness these are just my views. Finally what i want to say is we are one(Humans) not an individuality identities
